North Argentina: Salta
Argentina is a country that has a lot to offer. Its wide diversity of cultures, the great extensions of fields it possesses, the pleasantness of its people, and all the gastronomic experience it offers along with the best wines in the world make it the ideal place to vacation.
Not all of Argentina’s attractions can be found in Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls or Patagonia. Just a 2 hours flight from the capital of Buenos Aires, we will find the beautiful northern province of Salta, neighbor of Jujuy. Provinces that offer a dry and temperate climate and that in comparison to Buenos Aires, have an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level, in the capital.
While the province of Mendoza is known for its great vineyards and exquisite wines, Salta is not far behind. In Salta you can enjoy the famous wine route, the highest in the world, where you will visit wineries in the area, learn about the Salta grape and the preparation of the wines, and of course a delicious wine tasting.
From Salta comes the best red wine in the world, which is a Tannat from Bodega Colomé, who won the platinum medal and the Best in show distinction for having obtained 98 points out of a possible 100, in 2020.
Its dry and temperate climate is optimal for the cultivation and production of Torrontés wine and other varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Tannat, Bonarda, Syrah, Barbera and Tempranillo, which even if you are not a great taster, the experience will make you enjoy it.
But Salta not only offers good wine to its visitors, it also has different experiences for adults and children, such as the famous Tren de la Nubes, which is located at 4,220 meters above sea level, in the region of the Salta Puna, or the Cerro San Bernardo Cable Car, which offers a beautiful view of the beautiful city of Salta.
Whether to taste, eat its famous empanadas, or to discover and get to know new and wonderful landscapes, Salta is the ideal destination, to go alone, with friends or with family.
